PVC Coated Roofing Membrane Sheet
PVC coated roofing membrane sheet consists of a high-tenacity polyester or fiberglass scrim coated with a specialized PVC compound. The coating process applies a continuous layer of PVC resin with plasticizers, stabilizers, and UV absorbers on both faces, resulting in a laminated sheet with thickness ranging from 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm and standard widths of 1.0 m, 1.5 m, and 2.0 m. The coated structure provides dimensional stability, abrasion resistance, and weatherability. The material meets ASTM D4434 and EN 13956 standards for single-ply roofing membranes.
Material Composition
Polyester or fiberglass scrim with grid density of 9x9 or 6x6 threads per cm, providing tensile strength up to 400 N/50mm.
PVC resin (K-value 68-72) compounded with phthalate plasticizers (25-35 phr), calcium-zinc stabilizers, and titanium dioxide pigment.
Embossed or smooth finish; top side may include anti-dust coating or reflective layer for solar reflectance.
Non-woven polyester fleece or adhesive layer optional for enhanced bonding to insulation substrates.
Performance Metrics
| Tensile Strength (ASTM D751) | Greater than 350 N/50mm (MD/TD) |
| Elongation at Break | Greater than 180% |
| Tear Resistance | Greater than 150 N (ASTM D1004) |
| Puncture Resistance | Greater than 1200 N (ASTM E154) |
| Water Absorption | Less than 1.5% (ASTM D570) |
| Ozone Resistance | No cracks after 200 hours (ASTM D1149) |
| Accelerated Weathering | Retain 85% tensile after 2000 hours (ASTM G154) |
Application Fields
- Exposed roofing for industrial warehouses and logistics centers
- Commercial flat roofs with high foot traffic or maintenance access
- Agricultural buildings requiring corrosion resistance to ammonia and manure gases
- Airport hangars and large-span structures with wind uplift requirements
- Cold storage facilities with constant low-temperature exposure
Installation Note
Use mechanical fastening, fully adhered, or ballasted systems. Welding temperature: 480-620 C; overlap width: minimum 80 mm for side laps, 150 mm for end laps.
